For young kids or a stroller, the West Ridge Access Trail is the easier route — a short paved path to a bridge overlooking the falls — while the trail down to the base reflection pool involves a steep staircase. The reflection pool is a good spot for kids to wade and look for creek critters. Pack the dry clothes where you can actually reach them—not underneath everything else in the car.

Burt's is the classic North Georgia pumpkin stop, mountains of pumpkins in every size just down the road from Amicalola Falls. Edge of the World Trail
