Edge of the World Trail

Edge of the World Trail follows the Amicalola River from a small parking area, with a roughly half-mile boardwalk section that works well with a stroller, and a rougher 2. 5-mile forest loop beyond it that does not. The river here includes swimming holes and rapids that draw summer visitors, so keep little ones close to the water. Expect wet children, big opinions about leaving, and a strong case for bringing two towels instead of one.

The reflection pool is a good spot for kids to wade and look for creek critters. Pack the dry clothes where you can actually reach them—not underneath everything else in the car.
